How to Get a Durable Power of Attorney
A durable power of attorney is a document that is used as a legal way to appoint some one to act on your behalf if you become incapacitated. To get one you can go down to your county’s courthouse and pay a ‘print fee’ for a copy for one. An even easier way to get one though is by going online and finding a durable POA form you can fill out at home on your PC then print out yourself; theirs many sites out there that offer these kind of fillable forms.

A lawyer is not required to create this document; many people even feel it’s a complete waste of money to pay one. The truth is that any one can easily create their legal partnership agreement inexpensively on their own.

Foreign Patent Filing and PCT Applications
I. Why to Foreign File?
Many people think that there is an all encompassing international patent;
unfortunately, there really is not. Your U.S. filed patent application is only good in the United States. Thus, in order to obtain foreign patent rights, you must file separately in each foreign country because the patent laws of each country are different. With that understood, Patent Cooperation Treaty applications (PCT) can be filed designating multiple foreign countries. This is discussed in further detail in section II below.

Foreign Trademark Filing: What You Need to Know in a Nutshell
This is what I hear from many clients: “the trademark you filed for us will protect us in foreign countries too, right? Wrong! As with patents, trademark registrations only cover the country in which they are filed. So your US trademark application will only bestow trademark rights in the United States and not beyond. Debitor audits have returned to Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases.
Although it does not come with a great shock, debtor audits in Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases have returned. The U.S Trustee has commenced debtor audits as of May 12, 2008.
Isn’t the U.S. Trustee technically doing debtor audits when bringing 2004 Exam Subpoenas? Isn’t the U.S. Trustee already seeking tax documentation and proof of income through these 2004 Exam Subpoenas? Of course. However, they are not technically considered audits as mandated in Section 603(a) of Public Law 109-8, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.
Killing Time; the Importance of Time Synchronisation in Criminal Cases.
This article explores how time synchronisation devices have captured criminals.
On occasion, we all need to know the time and we have a
multitude of different devices to tell us it, from our mobile phones and wrist
watches to the office wall clock or the chimes on the radio news. But how
accurate are all these clocks and does it matter if they are all telling
different times?
For our day-to-day business it probably doesn’t matter too
much. If the office wall clock is a faster than your wrist-watch your boss
probably won’t fire you for being a minute late but when it comes to solving
criminal cases, timing is everything!
